At nine o'clock in the morning of Jan 12nd, the world's largest power hybrid electric vehicle designed by Ziyang Locomotive Co. Ltd got a successful low temperature start-up test in gelid arctic environment of 40 degrees below zero.It marked the success of hybrid electric vehicle 39 types of tests and research carried out by Railway Research Institute of China.This vehicle equipped with a power battery system which is being researched and developed by Xintaihang.
It is reported that the hybrid electric vehicle is the focus project of China Railway Corporation,which got the overall planning and guidance.Hybrid electric vehicle powered by diesel engines and large capacity battery packs,including three operating modes,they are low power &pure electric, medium power diesel & charge and high power diesel & electric. The biggest feature is energy saving and emissions reducing. 40% fuel can be saved when it can not be charged. 90% fuel consumption can be reduced when it can charge. Emissions of Sulfides, carbides and particulates can be reduced 60% to 90%.The new vehicle’s operating noise can be reduced more than 80% because of the new hybrid model .
The power battery system is the most critical and most important component of the hybrid electric vehicle, its performance directly determines hybrid electric vehicle development goals’ achievement. Henan Xintaihang Power Company is the units that supporting the power system,in order to meet the needs of the world's largest hybrid electric vehicle,they researched 1.5 megawatts power type LFP battery system.This system adopted cylindrical 26650 Lithium iron phosphate Battery and PCT international patented technology to developing power type LFP battery system,the working voltage is 1600V, the amount of capacity reach 1100 hours,its research level leads the international level.
On Jan,7,it is learn that the hybrid electric vehicle carried out a winter operating test from Tahe station to the Jiagedaqi station in 30 degrees below zero in the Daxinganling Mountains,
Although there are more than 20 ramps,the vehicle performance is very stable, the test completed 40 minutes ahead of time, the test shows that the hybrid electric vehicle fully meet the running in the special cold area
The hybrid electric vehicle got a successful start-up test in gelid arctic environment of 40 degrees below zero,which marks Xintaihang Power technology independent research and capacity of development power battery system reached the international advanced level.
